Would someone care to enlighten me as to just how I have managed to get cat hair in my keyboard...at work?

Now, I know the boy is of the intensely fluffy variety, and that sometimes, at home, it seems I don't so much vacuum/HOD-der-der-der-der* the carpet as comb it, but still...I was under the impression that I at least succeeded in dashing out of the door every morning looking vaguely presentable. Am I in fact labouring under a misapprehension here, and actually running merrily about in a Tribble-esque cloud of fur, perchance?

*Carpet-sweeper. As fellow Izzard fans will know.

Whilst we're on the subject of felines, the scruffy little black one turned up -

Which was nice. )

If there isn't a specific swearword for getting halfway through lining in a draft sketch in permanent pen, being rather pleased with it, then realising that for some reason you have depicted a right-handed character firing a service revolver left-handed, and being unable to simply flip the image in Photoshop because of stuff like hair partings, buttons, belt-pouches, etc. all being on their correct side[s]...

...then there BLOODY WELL SHOULD BE, to my mind.

Hrrrrngh....

[On the plus side, the paper I used for this one - which was intended as one frame in a strip - turned out to be woefully unsuitable for photographing and colouring in Photoshop, as the (actual, physical, rubber) eraser not only works at about 50% efficiency, but also tends to scrape and fluff it up something terrible, both of which lead to a serious degree of jagged and murky patches in the electronic file which are Not Easily Got Rid Of...so a good excuse to start all over again on smoother paper for the strip, and possibly use this as a (kind of AU ;) ) header image for the LJ. It's too good to waste (by my standards, anyhoo).]

Appropriate icon is appropriate.

So, I stroll into work this morning, say 'hello' to the office, and everyone looks at me in a slightly confused manner.

Apparently, the clocks went forward one hour on Sunday.

Nobody tells me anything round here. ;)

:sigh: Well, that was rather embarrassing...

More Six Nations matches today. :D

England v. Scotland - no dog in that fight ohwellEnglandIsuppose.

But Wales v. Ireland at 5.30? Now, that is going to be difficult, considering that whoever I cheer for, I'll end up pissing off one side of my family...

EDIT - Well, I was obviously going to be cheerful no matter who won, but...Grand Slam and Triple Crown for Ireland! :is a very happy Wolfie: :D

I am slightly behind on the news, but I only just came across this story this morning, blinked, and then read it again.

And laughed. At length.
Hands off our Spitfires! (Yes, Griffin & co., this means YOU.) )

...it's Pancake Day. So I've just been informed by a colleague. (Which came as quite a surprise. Even though, as a good Catholic, I really should have already known that Ash Wednesday is tomorrow.)

Therefore, herewith a slice of nostalgia from my distant childhood. XD

I really do miss that programme. :-P

I shall update tonight when I get home with convention report and pictures, etc. After forking out an extortionate amount for rail tickets for the family do at the weekend, cleaning the flat and making pancakes (hahahahahaha! That would involve actual Domestic Skillz, of which I know nowt) a good long fishie-onna-string play session with Sabre, to make up for abandoning him for three days to attend said con.

...or I've been unwittingly invaded by a very discreet and discerning burglar.

The SF convention is tomorrow today.Somewhere in this flat, there is a Psi Cop uniform.

Really.

Yet depite having turned up seemingly every single costume of the past few years (including the nun one), plus shedloads of re-enacting kit (which did admittedly lead to me finding my blue breeches) during my hour spent ferreting through the myriad storage boxes and washing piles, I'm buggered if I can find it.

:hrumph: Oh, well. :-P

In several hours, I shall be off to the Redemption con to see [livejournal.com profile] kathie_d , [livejournal.com profile] spacefall , [livejournal.com profile] k_haldane  and others, so I shall bid you farewell for the weekend and catch up when I am back. Have a lovely couple of days, all. :-)

It's 2.10 am, I have to be up at 6.30am for work, and I'm still sat at the computer attempting to find out the Welsh for 'mongoose'. (It occurs to me that this dictionary is actually bloody inadequate for my personal needs.)

:sigh: I really should get out more, shouldn't I...

:capitulates: Packing self and complaining cat off to bed.

Just been out for my afternoon-tea-break-cigarette in the works car park at the back, and on stepping out there was promptly ambushed by a fluffy little ball of inky-black affection.

UPDATE

I promise you all I was not just going to nick off with him! Plan was to take him to the vet's and then release him if they said he was fit enough.

Car-park was a markedly cat-free zone when I went out with the special Publisher's Book Delivery Box (complete with hastily-stabbed airholes and my own T-shirt in the bottom of it) at clocking-off today. So I popped into the vet's and explained the situation, and she was very helpful, plus reassuring - she said the skin complaint sounds like an allergy to fleas (which, whilst that might not exactly be lots of fun, at least is fairly pedestrian, and isn't severely painful or in danger of dropping him dead at any minute), and that they have procedures when it's possibly strays (which is basically leafleting here, there and everywhere and letting various people know they've found one).

So, the consensus is that if I do find him and manage to catch him, it's into the vet's for an hour to check for a microchip. If no joy there, then I get him treated for whatever's up with him, release him round the back of the office again, and stick posters all around the village with my mobile # on, asking the owners to get in touch with me, as I'm worried he's a stray. (Perhaps also feeding him a bit round the back of the office if he gets noticeably thinner - vet said if he gets especially thin, to catch him and bring him back to them.)

WTF do I do with a random cat?! )

A silly quickie sketch for Holmesslash. Completely worksafe, but daft.
